While job postings live on the BioSpace website for California dropped 30% year over year in April, the state is nevertheless home to scores of biopharma companies looking to fill open positions. There are over 300 roles listed on BioSpace for businesses located in the Biotech Bay and Biotech Beach hotbeds.

2. AbbVie has over 70 positions available. Jobs include associate scientist I-II, biologics drug product development, in Irvine; principal data architect II-biotherapeutics and genetic medicine in South San Francisco; and data science program lead I in Irvine.
3. Alumis has more than a dozen openings. Roles include senior scientist I analytical development; director, clinical quality assurance-contractor; and director, clinical pharmacology and DMPK.
4. Amgen has over 100 positions available. Jobs include associate vice president, quality, in Thousand Oaks; associate scientist in vivo pharmacology in South San Francisco; and senior engineer in Thousand Oaks.
