SOUTHINGTON — Smiths Medical is undergoing a $1 million expansion project set to be completed by November. The 125,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at 201 W. Queen St. will be expanded to a second 20,000-square-foot facility at 1 Captain Lewis Drive, directly down the street. The project has the potential to create up to 35 new jobs.
Smiths is an international company that specializes in manufacturing medical devices used in hospitals and other specialized health care environments.
