--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Biotechnology Industry Organization: WHAT: OECD Workshop: Development of Strategies for Measuring and Reporting Sustainability of Bio-Based Energy and Products. To support governments and industry in building a sustainable bio-based economy, the OECD Task Force on Industrial Biotechnology is considering the development of a set of recommendations to be known as the “OECD Principles in Assessing the Environmental and Economic Sustainability of Bio-based Products.” This set of recommendations could pave the way for an international standard. Panelists and audience participants will discuss, critique and debate the findings of the Montreal workshop and suggest both opportunities and obstacles to developing a set of international principles on sustainability.
