The biotechnology sector is one of the most dynamic in Spain. It has maintained an annual growth rate for turnover and job creation of 30% according to data from ASEBIO, the Spanish Association of Bio-companies. Spain attracts international projects and financing in biotechnology because it has a solid scientific base, highly qualified workforce, integrated health system, state-of-the-art infrastructures for innovation and major governmental backing. Business opportunities in Spain over the coming years will be linked to fields such as personalized medicine and advanced therapies, where interest is increasing in molecular diagnoses and related products.
