Previously BCN’s Web site was part of its parent company Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s Web site, http://www.bcbsm.com/ . The new Web site is easier for BCN’s more than 460,000 members and others to navigate and find information, and better positions BCN in today’s HMO marketplace.
BCN’s Web site continues to provide several self-service functions, including selecting a primary care physician, requesting an ID card, checking benefits and submitting a coordination of benefits form.
Other features of the new site include:
* The ability for the visually-impaired with special computers to translate text into audio
* The option to choose larger or smaller text size * Detailed descriptions of the various health care options available
* BCN’s drug formulary, which lists covered medications available to BCN members with prescription drug coverage
* A glossary of health care terms
* A library containing many of the forms used for conducting business with BCN
People can also link directly to agent, physician and hospital-related information.
