SignalRx announces its proprietary small molecule dual inhibitor of PI3K and BRD4, SF2523, demonstrates "Shock and Kill" effects on latent HIV virus as a promising approach to curing AIDS
SAN DIEGO, April 2, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- SignalRx Pharmaceuticals Inc., a clinical-stage company developing novel small-molecules therapeutics to inhibit key orthogonal and synergistic oncotargets for the treatment of cancer, today announced the publication in the Journal of Biological Chemistry studies demonstrating its dual PI3K/BRD4 inhibitor SF2523 suppresses HIV-1 replication and eliminates the latent infectious state.
The study was conducted by Dr. Donald L. Durden, founder and senior scientific advisor of SignalRx Pharmaceuticals and Professor and Associate Director of Pediatric Oncology at the Moores UCSD Cancer Center, in collaboration with researchers at the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine.
