VANCOUVER, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--International Rehabilitative Sciences, Inc. dba RS Medical, the premier provider of physician-prescribed pain management and rehabilitation products and services, announces the appointment of John Konsin as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective earlier this month. President and co-founder Rick Terrell is retiring from the day-to-day operations of the company and will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board.
Rick Terrell has played an instrumental role in the founding, management direction and growth of RS Medical, from introduction of its first home electrotherapy product in 1990 to a company of over 500 employees supporting multiple Pain and Function solutions products prescribed by thousands of physicians for their patients in over 195 metropolitan markets. The privately held company recently celebrated its milestone 20-year anniversary.
“I am very pleased with the appointment of John Konsin as President and CEO, just as I am excited about the future of RS Medical and our continued ability to outperform the market,” said Rick Terrell. “John Konsin brings strong executive leadership and over 30 years of experience in the medical device industry including general management, marketing, sales, business development and operations. Said John Konsin, President and CEO, “RS Medical has strengths that are the envy of many life science companies — a large, experienced, direct national sales team, strong brand awareness, and numerous and deep relationships with healthcare professionals, their patients, payors and suppliers. I look forward to addressing the challenges and growth opportunity in our continued mission to promote positive patient outcomes in the current and future markets we will serve.”
John Konsin served until September of 2009 as Vice President, Sports Surgery, of the Surgical Devices Global Business Unit of Covidien at its Waltham, Massachusetts facility.
