This market development follows Flextronics Medical's expansion in 2009, where the company added 600,000 square feet of capacity in Shenzhen, China. Flextronics Medical expects the Senai site to be fully operational by April 2011.
"This expansion in Senai reflects growing demand for our innovative, world-class medical services to support the world's most recognized medical OEM brands. We currently have a dedicated medical manufacturing facility in Singapore, and this new facility in Malaysia will allow us to leverage our infrastructure in the region while expanding our low-cost footprint to better serve our medical OEM customers," said Dan Croteau, Presidents Flextronics Medical. "I am very enthusiastic about this expansion and want to congratulate the Flextronics Medical team for its continued outstanding work ethic and drive to be the best in the industry."
