BLOOMFIELD, Conn., June 24, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CIGNA HealthCare announced today the appointment of David Cordani as senior vice president, customer segments and marketing. Cordani, who has more than 13 years of experience in various positions with CIGNA, will head CIGNA HealthCare's distribution, marketing and underwriting for all customer segments and will report to John Coyle, senior vice president, core medical. Cordani will move into the newly created position from his current role as chief financial officer (CFO) for CIGNA HealthCare.

Prior to serving as CIGNA HealthCare CFO, Cordani held a number of leadership positions at the company, including president of CIGNA HealthCare's Southeast Region, CIGNA Corporation's Controller and CFO for CIGNA HealthCare's Field Operations. Cordani holds a BS degree from Texas A&M and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Hartford. He is a Chartered Financial Consultant and a Certified Public Accountant.
Jon Rubin will become the financial officer for CIGNA HealthCare. He has held a number of financial leadership positions, including head of Corporate Development and Business Control. "Jon has more than 20 years of financial experience with CIGNA and is ideally suited to the role of CIGNA HealthCare's Financial Officer," said Hanway.
Rubin is a graduate of the University of Rochester and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
