Patrick Anquetil, Chief Executive Officer of Portal Instruments, to Speak at 2018 BIO International Convention in Boston

Anquetil will discuss how Portal Instruments’ connected drug-delivery system differentiates pharmaceutical company brands and creates a better healthcare experience.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Portal Instruments, a medical device company focused on advanced drug delivery and solving the challenge of self-administering biological medicines, is pleased to announce that Chief Executive Officer Patrick Anquetil will be speaking at the 2018 BIO International Convention in Boston, taking place June 4-7.

Anquetil will present “Portal’s Connected Needle-Free Injectors: Differentiating your drug and improving outcomes through a better experience” on June 4th at 5:15pm at the Boston Convention Center. The presentation will discuss opportunities for pharmaceutical companies to differentiate their brands through innovative product partnerships. Anquetil will highlight how connectivity helps to transform the patient experience and enables real-time tracking and reporting of medication delivery to set a new standard for interactivity between patient and care teams to improve outcomes.

In addition to Anquetil’s presentation, Portal Instruments will host a booth to showcase the company’s advancements in connected needle-free drug delivery using a highly innovative jet injection platform licensed from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The platform is designed for home-use self-administration to avoid the hassle and complication of traditional needles and has the potential for applications across a range of biologic medicines that currently require administration through an injection.

“Portal is developing a next-generation needle-free injector as a ‘consumer medical device’ to deliver a better experience, before and after the injection,” said Anquetil. “In a growing competitive marketplace, we believe that a better experience, which fits into a patient’s lifestyle, will help to improve adherence and outcomes for patients, and provide an opportunity for biotech companies to differentiate their brand and drive prescriptions.”

Portal Instruments will be at Booth 1105 at the Boston Convention Center, during the BIO International Convention. More information about Portal Instruments can be found at www.portalinstruments.com. Details on the BIO International Convention can be found at convention.bio.org.
