HOUSTON, July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- eCardio, one of the leading providers of arrhythmia monitoring solutions, announced today that John Untereker has been added to the senior leadership team as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

As Chief Financial Officer, Untereker will be responsible for the evaluation, direction and enhancement of eCardio’s fiscal functions and performance. In July 2009, eCardio took on the first round of institutional funding from Sequoia Capital after several years of profitable growth and industry recognition.
Untereker has an extensive background in mergers & acquisitions accounting and financing, financial reporting, tax accounting, budgeting / forecasting and SEC reporting. Previously, Untereker served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at American Electric Technologies, Inc. where he was an integral part of managing the growth and transition of the company. Prior to that, Untereker served as Chief Financial Officer for Omnicare Inc.'s Southwest Region in Houston, Texas and has held senior management positions at Omni Energy Services, Petroleum Helicopters Inc., NL Industries, and was an Audit Manager with Coopers and Lybrand.
Untereker has also served on eCardio’s Business Advisory Board since 2009. As a board member, Untereker understands the unique challenges and obstacles facing high growth companies in healthcare.

Untereker holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from Williams College and a Master of Business Administration from Iona College. Untereker is a certified public accountant (CPA), and participates in several local organizations including United Way of Montgomery County.
