Franco-German drugmaker Aventis (AVEP.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) , fighting a takeover bid from French rival Sanofi-Synthelabo (SASY.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) , said on Monday the U.S. Federal Trade Commission had extended by a year Aventis’s deadline to sell a stake in French chemicals company Rhodia (RHA.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) .
