Thermo Fisher Scientific said it had sold some of its biosciences businesses to GE Healthcare for $1.065 billion. The units include its cell culture, gene modification and magnetic beads businesses, which had annual sales of about $250 million in 2013. In a brief statement, Thermo Fisher said the sale was done to satisfy regulators following its acquisition of Life Technologies Corp. in February.
