KENILWORTH, N.J., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Schering-Plough Corporation today announced that Jeffrey Berkowitz has been promoted to group vice president, U.S. Managed Markets, effective immediately. In this role, Berkowitz will continue to drive business development related to U.S. Managed Markets, which include third-party managed care organizations, pharmacy benefit management organizations, Medicare, Medicaid and group practice organizations. He will lead the Managed Markets team, a field force dedicated to ensuring that Schering-Plough products are readily available through these diverse managed market segments. In addition, he will have responsibility for Trade Sales and State Government Affairs. Based in Kenilworth, Berkowitz reports to Sean McNicholas, senior vice president, Strategic Partnerships & U.S. Managed Markets.
Berkowitz joined Schering-Plough in 1998 as senior counsel assigned to the Managed Care and Specialty Care Customer Groups. He has held increasingly responsible positions in Global Law and U.S. Managed Markets. In 2004, Berkowitz was one of three recipients of the prestigious Schering-Plough Chairman’s Award in recognition of his outstanding achievements.
Prior to joining Schering-Plough, Berkowitz was an associate with Proskauer Rose practicing law in New York, N.Y. and Washington, D.C. He holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in Brooklyn, N.Y. and a B.A. in political science from Union College in New York State.
