MONTGOMERY, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 31, 2006--ProEthic Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a privately funded specialty pharmaceutical company that acquires, develops and markets niche prescription products, announced today that it has appointed Joseph A. Medlin as the Company's senior vice president finance and chief operating officer. He brings to the Company over fifteen years of finance and operational experience. Prior to joining ProEthic, Mr. Medlin was the vice president of finance, IT, and administration for Altea Therapeutics, a biotechnology company devoted to the development of drugs and vaccines delivered via the skin. There he was responsible for closing an equity transaction that raised $32.8 million in cash to fund research and development activities.
