(NYSE: PKI), a global leader focused on improving the health and safety of people and the environment, today reported financial results for the third quarter ended October 4, 2009. The Company reported GAAP earnings per share from continuing operations of $0.14, down from the same period a year ago, primarily due to restructuring charges in the third quarter of 2009 and the benefit of tax audit settlements in the same period a year ago. On a non-GAAP basis, which includes the adjustments noted in the attached reconciliation, the Company announced adjusted earnings per share of $0.30, exceeding the Company’s prior guidance of $0.25-$0.27.
