According to a Carestream press release, the patent concerns an imaging system in which small animals can be imaged in several modes without necessitating moving the animal. The system has a movable phosphor screen that allows users to image the test animal by X-ray and radioisotope with the screen, and fluorescence and luminescence without the screen. The system allows for a single image comprising the different modalities.
In its complaint, Carestream is asking for a declaration that Carestream is the owner of the '325 Patent; an injunction prohibiting Caliper from using, making, importing, offering for sale, and selling IVIS Lumina XR imaging systems or any other products that embody the inventions claimed in the '325 Patent; compensatory damages and interest, treble damages under federal law, and attorney fees.
