Massachusetts Biotechnology Council Names Thomas M. Finneran President
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MBC) announced today that it has named Massachusetts Speaker of the House Thomas M. Finneran as its President. Mr. Finneran will assume this role effective October 4, 2004.

Mr. Finneran represents Massachusetts' 12th Suffolk District, which includes sections of Dorchester, Mattapan, and Milton. He has been a member of the House of Representatives since 1979. From 1991 to 1996, Mr. Finneran served as Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. He was first elected Speaker of the House in 1996. He holds a BS from Northeastern University and JD from Boston College.
