Walgreen To Restrict Pseudoephedrine

Walgreen Co., the nation’s largest drugstore chain in sales, said Friday that it will move all products that contain pseudoephedrine behind pharmacy counters by October. The company is joining a growing trend of drugstores and retailers who are controlling sales of products containing the ingredient, which can be extracted and used to make the highly addictive drug methamphetamine. To date companies like Safeway, Kroger, CVS, Target, Albertson’s and Wal-Mart have taken measures to control sales of the products.
