A suspected outbreak of soil bacteria has killed six people in Taiwan and left three others in a critical condition, health officials said. Tainan city municipal hospital in southern Taiwan reported two more suspected cases Sunday, bringing to 18 the number of people hospitalized with symptoms of the illness called Burkholderia pseudomallei since July 11.Those who died suffered from a combination of pneumonia and septicaemia, the Center for Disease Control said.
