More Potent Therapy Slows Plaque Build-Up

More potent anti-cholesterol therapy with the drug Lipitor (atorvastatin) is better than standard therapy with Pravachol (pravastatin) at slowing plaque build-up in the arteries that feed the heart, new research shows. In fact, after 18 months, no additional build-up was seen in patients treated with Lipitor, according to the report, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
