HATBORO, Pa., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Optasia, a cutting-edge interactive learning company, recently acquired a contract from PinnacleHealth (Harrisburg, PA) to provide a complete clinical documentation training solution. Pinnacle just employed a new solution that encompasses InfoLogix mobile wireless carts, Siemens MAK software, and PICSYS delivery system. The facility then needed a comprehensive training program that could cover all three elements, proficiently train a large-sized staff in a short period of time, and yet still remain cost effective.
Pinnacle also wanted to try to alleviate some past issues that are normally inherent in training. In a typical instructor-led training environment, the instructor dictates the pace of the class -- this speed may be too rapid for some and too sluggish for others. Furthermore, multiple trainers were required to deliver the same material repetitively, in a series of classes, in order to accommodate the various nursing shifts at the hospital. In an effort to eradicate these hurdles, Pinnacle had in mind a web- based training solution that was self-paced with the ability to be customized.
Optasia fit Pinnacle’s criteria and much more. Optasia has the unique ability to combine extensive healthcare technology expertise with cutting edge, distance-learning methodologies. For Pinnacle, Optasia was able to combine hardware (carts) and software elements (Siemens and PICSYS) into one total solution. The solution was web-based allowing for self-paced instruction and it eliminated the need for multiple stand-up trainers. The course content itself incorporated interactivity - such as video scenarios, embedded questions, interactive text and graphics, and software demos and simulations - all shown to increase user retention.
Optasia’s entire suite of solutions also consists of an LMS, authoring tool, and certification modules. All of the tools employed in creating, distributing and certifying courses are deliverable and deployable in a variety of packages to meet each client’s unique requirements.
