Metiscan, Inc. Subsidiary Schuylkill Open MRI, Inc. Sponsors Community Healthcare Events: Community Health Fair and 4th Annual American Red Cross Blood Drive

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - May 07, 2009) - Metiscan, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: MTIZ), a leading provider of products and services that streamline the management of diagnostic imaging facilities and an operator of diagnostic imaging facilities, today announced that its majority owned subsidiary Schuylkill Open MRI, Inc. (SOMRI), located in Pottsville, PA is sponsoring two community healthcare events during the months of June and July.

The first event is entitled “Care in our Community” and will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 5:30pm. It will be held at the Fairlane Village Mall. Other event sponsors include ManorCare, Omni Home Health and Good Physical Therapy. There will be three local physicians speaking at the event to include Dr. John Chawluk, Dr. Carol Miller-Schaeffer and Dr. Myron Haas. Dr. Chawluk, a Neurologist, has been the Medical Director of SOMRI since 2003. He is a member of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and Certification Examination, MRI/CT, by the American Society of Neuroimaging. Dr. Chawluk received his undergraduate degree at Harvard University, A.B., magna cum laude, in Biochemical Sciences and his MD from John Hopkins University School of Medicine. RSVP is required and seating is limited to 150 attendees.

The second event is SOMRI’s Fourth Annual American Red Cross Blood Drive and will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009, between 10:00am - 4:00pm. It will be held at the Fairlane Village Mall. Those who donate blood will be invited back to SOMRI for complimentary food and drinks. Scheduling an appointment in advance is strongly encouraged based on past drive attendance.

Metiscan acquired the majority interest in Schuylkill Open MRI, Inc. (SOMRI), (http://www.schuylkillopenmri.com/) on December 31st, 2008 through a share-for-share exchange. SOMRI is a diagnostic imaging facility that provides magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) services. SOMRI officially opened for business and began its operations in March of 2003 and is located in Pottsville, PA, a rural community located in Schuylkill County. SOMRI is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
