Femara (letrozole), a drug used for advanced breast cancer, seems to be an effective treatment for endometriosis, according to findings from a small pilot study. Endometriosis is an often-painful condition in which tissue that normally lines the uterus is present elsewhere in the abdomen. Although a number of medical and surgical treatments are available, some women experience pain that doesn’t respond to any measure.
