WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Dec. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- CAD SCIENCES announces the release of its BIRADS(R) ATLAS breast MRI reporting capability as a standard offering on its WorkSpace(TM) MR image viewer product. This announcement was made possible by the Company’s inclusion on the American College of Radiology’s (ACR) approved Software Vendor List. CAD SCIENCES is the only vendor to incorporate the complete set of BIRADS(R) ATLAS lesion classification criteria in its reporting module. This announcement is consistent with the Company’s strong reputation for innovation as demonstrated by the recent development of its Full-Time-Point Pharmacokinetic Analysis platform for lesion characterization in MRI, a technology that is unparalleled in the industry and has rendered competing systems obsolete.
“The new reporting capability, using a drag-and-drop method for the image selection, is the best I have ever seen,” said Richard W. Reitherman, M.D., Ph.D., of Orange Coast Memorial Breast Center in Fountain Valley, CA. From a workflow perspective, this new reporting module guides the radiologist through the entire BIRADS(R) ATLAS classification criteria when analyzing and interpreting Breast MRI data.
Furthermore, the module is customizable by permitting each radiologist user to assign specific values for relative weighting of the individual classification categories prescribed by the ACR. After completing the classification criteria checklist for each case, a final BIRADS(R) score may be assigned manually by the radiologist or calculated automatically by the software based upon the user’s pre-defined preferences.
“With this new feature, radiologists will now have the confidence of being able to interpret exams without having to second-guess themselves as they follow the prescribed format that has been well established by the ACR,” said Andreas Muehler, M.D., President of CAD SCIENCES. Ray Joslin, CEO added, “Our adherence to the standard set by the ACR and consequent status as an approved software vendor, enables the Company to deliver to the market a product that radiologists can be sure is the gold-standard in the industry as it pertains to interpreting Breast MRI examinations.”
