DES MOINES, IA. - BioSpace, the leader in life sciences news and careers, today announced their NextGen Bio “Class of 2020,” a list of 21 up-and-coming life sciences companies in the United States.
The list represents some of the most promising new companies across the biopharma sector that are already making an impact in the industry and will have an even bigger impact in the future.
Cerevel Therapeutics topped the list, with Anthos Therapeutics, Century Therapeutics, Cyclerion Therapeutics and Mirium Pharmaceuticals rounding out the Top 5.
To come up with the NextGen Bio “Class of 2020,” BioSpace analyzed biopharma companies that launched* no earlier than mid-2018 and awarded points to the companies based on four categories: finance, collaborations, pipeline and innovation.

This is the sixth year that BioSpace has compiled a NextGen Bio “Class of …” list. Some companies that have previously been featured on BioSpace’s NextGen Bio list that have made a name for themselves in the industry include Denali Therapeutics, MyoKardia, BlueRock Therapeutics and SpringWorks Therapeutics among many others.
