Optasia Announces Contract With St. Joseph Hospital To Provide Customized Clinical Documentation And Hardware Training

HATBORO, Pa., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Optasia, a cutting-edge interactive learning company, recently acquired a contract from St. Joseph Hospital (Nashua, NH) to provide a complete training solution that combines wireless mobile hardware with clinical documentation software. St. Joseph just employed a new solution that encompasses Ergotron mobile wireless carts and McKesson's Horizon Expert Documentation (HED) software. McKesson provides its own training material for their software, but St. Joseph wanted one comprehensive training program that could cover both hardware and software, and could be customized specifically to their facility, yet still remain cost-effective.

Optasia fit St. Joseph's criteria and much more. Optasia has the unique ability to combine extensive healthcare technology expertise with cutting-edge, distance-learning methodologies. For St. Joseph, Optasia was able to combine hardware (carts) and software elements (HED) into one total solution, as opposed to implementing separate training courses from each manufacturer. The solution was web-based allowing for self-paced instruction and it eliminated the need for multiple stand-up trainers. The course content itself incorporated attention-grabbing interactive elements -- such as video scenarios, embedded questions, interactive text and graphics, and software demos and simulations -- all shown to increase user retention.

Optasia's entire suite of solutions also consists of an LMS, authoring tool, and certification modules. All of the tools employed in creating, distributing and certifying courses are deliverable and deployable in a variety of packages to meet each client's unique requirements.
