THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Amgen (NASDAQ:AMGN) reported adjusted earnings per share (EPS), excluding stock option expense and certain other expenses, of $1.14 for the second quarter of 2008, an increase of 2 percent compared to $1.12 for the second quarter of 2007. Adjusted net income, excluding stock option expense and certain other expenses, decreased 2 percent to $1,235 million in the second quarter of 2008 compared to $1,265 million in the second quarter of 2007. Stock option expense on a per share basis totaled 1 cent and 3 cents for the second quarter of 2008 and 2007, respectively.
