HUNENBERG, Switzerland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alcon, Inc. (NYSE:ACL) reported global sales of $1,203.8 million for the third quarter of 2006, an increase of 12.4 percent over global sales in the third quarter of 2005, or 11.3 percent excluding the impact of foreign exchange fluctuations. Reported net earnings for the third quarter of 2006 were $232.1 million, or $0.76 per share on a diluted basis, compared to $295.8 million, or $0.95 per share for the third quarter of 2005.
