DALLAS, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Oncology’s Mamie McFadden Ward Cancer Center on the Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital campus in Beaumont is closed temporarily due to loss of power, water and phones resulting from Hurricane Rita. Cancer patients needing to continue treatment are being redirected to other Texas Oncology treatment facilities statewide. A complete listing of Texas Oncology facilities is located at the end of this press release.
“Until power, water and phones are up and running, Mamie McFadden Ward Cancer Center will remain closed,” says Greg DeAtkine, executive director for Texas Oncology’s Gulf Coast region. “We do have other facilities close by that patients can visit to continue their treatment. And, for those who evacuated to other parts of the state, we have treatment facilities statewide.”
For patients who remained in the Beaumont area, the closest facilities for continued treatment include Texas Oncology -- Baytown at 4201 Garth Rd., Suite 101; Texas Oncology -- East Houston at 1140 Westmont; and Texas Oncology -- Deke Slayton Cancer Center at 501 Medical Center Blvd. in Webster and Texas Oncology -- Sugar Land Cancer Center at 1350 First Colony Blvd. in Sugar Land.
