Southwest Research Institute Selected to Receive $1.2 Million Contract from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory for Battery Research

SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Southwest Research Institute has been selected by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to receive an award of $1.2 million to develop advanced anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. The award is one of several selected under LBNL’s Batteries for Advanced Transportation Technologies (BATT) Program. The BATT Program is the premier fundamental research program supported by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Vehicle Technologies and managed by LBNL for developing high-performance, rechargeable batteries for electric vehicles and hybrid-electric vehicles.
