(NASDAQ: SNTS), a specialty biopharmaceutical company, today announced the publication of an integrated analysis of two randomized placebo-controlled clinical trials with RHUCIN® (recombinant human C1 inhibitor, or rhC1INH), in the October issue of the peer reviewed Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (JACI). The studies were conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of two dosage strengths of RHUCIN, an investigational drug, for the treatment of acute attacks of angioedema in patients with Hereditary Angioedema (HAE). HAE is a human genetic disorder in which the patient is deficient in or lacks a functional plasma protein C1 inhibitor, resulting in an overreaction of the immune system.
