08 January 2013, Madison, WI USA: Promega Corporation announced today that it has launched Magne™ Protein A Beads for the purification of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies from a range of diverse sources. These paramagnetic affinity beads offer a convenient method for achieving high purity and high recovery of immunoglobulins (Igs) from cell culture, ascites and serum samples. They may also be used for high-throughput antibody purification; antibody purification and concentration from small-volume or dilute source material; and for immunoglobulin depletion.
Magne Protein A Beads are composed of iron encapsulated by macroporous cellulose, resulting in low non-specific binding and high quality purification, they use a novel attachment chemistry to immobilize recombinant Protein A protein molecules in the same orientation on the surface of the bead. The oriented attachment is known to improve the functionality of immobilized proteins.Their highly magnetic properties allow ease of handling, and rapid and efficient capture using a variety of magnetic stands.
This new product compliments the Magne Protein G Beads recently launched.
