ST. PAUL, Minn., June 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Prime Therapeutics (Prime), a leading pharmacy benefit manager (PBM), has received the top rating for overall customer satisfaction for large pharmacy benefit managers who serve more than 20 million members according to a survey conducted by the Pharmacy Benefit Management Institute (PBMI). The annual survey included responses from 396 U.S. plan sponsors representing more than 43.2 million members.

“The top customer satisfaction rating clearly demonstrates Prime’s dedication to helping employers and members get the best value and experience for their health care dollars,” said Eric Elliott, president and chief executive officer at Prime Therapeutics. “As a privately held, client-owned organization, we can truly align with our customers to execute on programs and services that benefit them in their markets and at the same time drive down overall costs.”

Prime scored highest among competitors in its size group in the majority of service dimension categories, including “relationship oriented,” “delivering on promised services” and “delivering on promised savings,” despite manufacturer price increases. Prime was also rated highest by plan sponsors as the most likely to be recommended as a PBM of choice.

“We spend incredible effort to deliver on our promises and ensure we are quantifying the value we are delivering for our customers” said Elliott. “The top customer satisfaction rating clearly proves that what we are doing is of huge value in the market.”

PBMI is an independent organization that provides research-based education to help employers, health plans, and pharmacy benefit management companies develop and manage evidence-based and effective drug benefit programs.
