Tampa, FL – July 24, 2009 -- Pilgrim Software, Inc., a world-leading provider of Enterprise Compliance and Quality Management (ECQM) software solutions, today announced that the company has achieved National Security System (NSS) Certification and Accreditation (C&A), enabling federal government departments and agencies to implement Pilgrim’s electronic ECQM system for managing key internal processes.
National Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (NIACAP) was developed to provide minimum standards for the certification and accreditation of national security systems. The C&A programs ensure that information collected, generated, processed, stored, displayed, transmitted or received by NSS, through telecommunication or information systems, is adequately protected with respect to requirements for confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Pilgrim received Accreditation, “a formal declaration by a Designated Approving Authority (DAA) that an information system (IS) is approved to operate at an acceptable level of risk, based on the implementation of an approved set of technical, managerial, and procedural safeguards; Pilgrim also earned Certification, defined by the government as a “comprehensive evaluation of the technical and non-technical security safeguards of an IS to support the accreditation process that establishes the extent to which a particular design and implementation meets a set of specified security requirements.”
“Earning certification and accreditation in accord with National Security Systems guidelines reflects Pilgrim’s integrity as a reliable provider of proven, secure software solutions,” said Prashanth Rajendran, Pilgrim Software’s Chief Operating Officer. “It represents that a services provider has been through an in-depth audit of their security safeguards.”
Currently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is implementing Pilgrim’s automated platform for document control, complaints and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) systems management throughout the Laboratory Response Network (LRN) under the Division of Bioterrorism Preparedness & Response.
“Whether an organization is required to outsource to a provider that has earned NSS C&A, or simply wants to ensure that critical security controls are in place, Pilgrim has earned U.S. government recognition that our quality and compliance solutions are reliable and secure,” Rajendran said.
