New St. Jude Medical Tech A Boon For Patients And New Mexico Economy

The Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center recently became the first health care organization in the state to use new medical technology from St. Jude Medical Inc. (NYSE: STJ).

Several months in the making, a total of five patients went through an implantation process, the CardioMEMS HF System — a permanent heart failure monitoring device that was only approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in late May 2014. Three surgeons from the New Mexico Heart Institute performed the procedures.
