Dr. Thornton was formerly Chief Medical Officer at ZIOPHARM, Inc., and most recently Managing Director, Clinical and Regulatory Affairs at Angiotech Pharmaceuticals. He also has over 6 years experience as a Medical Officer at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Biologics (CBER).
