Genstruct, Inc. Expands Team with New VP of Engineering

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Genstruct Inc., a systems biology company focused on identifying molecular mechanisms, networks and biomarkers to better understand large-scale biology, announced today that it has appointed Julian Ray, Ph.D. as vice president of Engineering. In his new role, Dr. Ray will be responsible for managing the continued evolution of the Genstruct technology platform, customer platforms and the company's IT functions.

Dr. Ray has more than 18 years of experience in designing, developing and deploying innovative solutions to challenging technology and information management systems problems. Prior to joining Genstruct, Dr. Ray was the chief technology officer (CTO) at auctionPAL, a venture-backed technology- enabled business-to-consumer services company. From 2004 to 2007, he was the co-founder and CTO for C2GLogistics, an Internet startup providing a suite of web-based services and mobile applications with a large customer base in the life sciences industry. In 1999, he co-founded and held the position of CTO/VP of Engineering for TransDecisions Inc., a software firm providing enterprise-class decision support software. Dr. Ray has also served as a senior software scientist at Intergraph Corporation and director of the Transportation Research Center at the University of Tennessee.

Dr. Ray has presented more than 30 technical papers at professional and academic conferences and authored a dozen peer-reviewed articles in academic publications and conference proceedings. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from the University of Tennessee and his B.S. from Reading University in the United Kingdom.
