PITTSBURGH, May. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- ChemImage Sensor Systems (CISS) announces participation in a live equipment demonstration and exhibit at this year’s METSEC 2015 Defense and Security Training and Conference in Montreal, Canada. The conference will gather leading security experts from Military, Police and Industry discussing counter-terrorism initiatives at the local, regional, national and international level.
At the conference, CISS scientists will also provide a live demonstration of its innovative product, LightGuard as part of the training. LightGuard, a Shortwave Infrared (SWIR) Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI) Sensor, is a stationary system which is used at checkpoints to provide real-time standoff detection of explosive and chemical threats on the surfaces of vehicles, personnel and other items from a safe distance. The system features the use of innovative wide-field imaging, which allows real-time scanning of areas significantly larger than what is currently provided by traditional point detection systems. The system also provides the user the ability to detect and react to a possible threat at distances greater than many of the systems currently deployed; detecting threats from up to 100 meters.
The company’s exhibit during this conference will feature its VeroVision system. VeroVision is an innovative handheld sensor utilizing HSI, capable of providing real-time, standoff, visual screening and detection of chemical threats on various surfaces including people, vehicles and buildings. The strength of the VeroVision is the noncontact, passive sensor which does not require any reagents or lasers, and enables personnel to scan a wide area to detect and locate materials of interest from a safe distance of up to 20 meters away, rather than the currently available point and detect systems which indentify target up close.
