BIOLASE Technology, Inc. Names Frederick M. Capallo Interim Chief Financial Officer

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - March 10, 2009) - BIOLASE Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: BLTI), the world’s leading dental laser company, announced today that it has appointed Frederick M. Capallo as Interim Chief Financial Officer of the Company. He is assuming the responsibilities of David M. Mulder who assumed the BIOLASE CEO position effective March 4.

Capallo, 49, has more than 20 years of financial experience with medical device companies. He joined BIOLASE as a consultant in May 2006 and was named Corporate Controller in November 2006.

Mulder said, “Fred served the Company well as the Corporate Controller and as an Interim CFO ahead of my own appointment. We have worked together closely and he has my trust. He is the ideal candidate to help administer the financial aspects of the organization during this interim period. We appreciate his stepping up to the task, and we look forward to his continued contributions.”

Prior to joining BIOLASE, Capallo spent ten years as Director of Corporate Accounting for Irvine-based Interpore International, Inc., a designer, manufacturer and distributor of orthopedic products including spinal implants, bone graft material and minimally invasive products.

Capallo is a Certified Public Accountant. He received a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Baltimore and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Salisbury State University in Maryland.
