25 June 2013 -- The BioIndustry Association (BIA) welcomes the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s response to George Freeman’s Treasury Question on the Biomedical Catalyst.
Speaking in the House of Commons, the Chancellor said:
“The Biomedical Catalyst fund has been very successful at supporting small businesses in this sector. Without giving too much away about tomorrow, I can tell him that we will go on funding this scheme.”
Steve Bates, BIA Chief Executive Officer, said:
“The BIA is delighted the Chancellor has committed to continuing to fund the Biomedical Catalyst and recognises the value of investing in UK bioscience companies. I would like to thank all our members for making such a convincing case and look forward to hearing further details in the next few days.”
