WILMINGTON, Del., May 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DuPont today said it has been asked to provide the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) with approximately 75,000 DuPont(TM) Tychem(R) garments to be worn by USDA workers while handling infected game and poultry.
DuPont(TM) Tychem(R) delivers effective protection against a range of chemicals. The garment is worn in a variety of industries -- including environmental cleanup operations, hazardous response and waste management.

We remain ready to supply additional protective apparel as may be needed, as well as other innovations such as Virkon(R) S veterinary disinfectant and RelyOn(R) personal disinfectant.”
DuPont and its local partners are currently working with government officials, veterinarians and farm staff around the world on key preventive control measures needed to help minimize the spread of avian flu on poultry or game farms. Recently, the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) asked DuPont to provide initial supplies of its DuPont(TM) Virkon(R) S veterinary disinfectant to meet the short-term needs in 69 nations, where it is needed most to help governments and farmers prevent avian flu from spreading. Additionally, in Indonesia, DuPont has teamed with the Red Cross to assist the Indonesian government in combating avian flu through community awareness and community-based surveillance.
Fastenal, a Minnesota-based industrial distributor, will deliver the DuPont(TM) Tychem(R) garments to locations designated by the USDA.
