STATESVILLE, N.C., May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- MAGNET, Inc. has chosen Mamassist to bring the latest in CAD technology for mammography to all its participating healthcare facilities, regardless of size, via Mamassist’s unique out sourcing program.
Computer-aided detection (CAD) improves cancer detection rates up to 95 percent, according to an article in the scientific journal Applied Radiology. It helps identify problematic masses, architectural distortions and micro calcification clusters. By harnessing technology to more accurately identify suspicious areas on patient’s mammograms, reading accuracy is improved and early cancer detection is improved.
The Mamassist program allows doctors, clinics and hospitals to provide this important service without the expense of purchasing the sophisticated equipment.
Mamassist uses the latest in CAD technology to maintain its cutting edge in patient care and uses the most sophisticated transportation system available to provide the best service.
Mamassist utilizes pre-paid, computerized, bar-coded distribution systems with a guarantee against loss. Every patient’s film is logged into the system, verified for completeness, batched for processing and quality checked again before being returned. All patient privacy regulations are adhered to and the accuracy of the process is verified at least three times.
“We have served over 40,000 patients without a single error,” said Ken Hoglund, president of Mamassist. “We are thrilled to be able to make this service available to MAGNET’s partners and their patients.”
