Chapel Hill, NC – (May 13, 2014) – Rho, a contract research organization (CRO) focused on bringing new products to market through a full range of product development services, today announced that Dr. Jack Modell has joined its team as their senior medical officer, bringing 20 years of experience in clinical research, teaching, and patient care in academic medicine, and an additional 10 years of experience in clinical drug development (phase II-IV), medical affairs, medical governance, drug safety, and management within the pharmaceutical industry.
A board-certified psychiatrist, Jack has led a distinguished academic career. As a tenured professor, he authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications spanning numerous therapeutic and scientific areas, including addiction medicine, anesthesiology, psychiatry, neurology, and nuclear medicine. Prior to joining Rho, Jack was employed at GlaxoSmithKline where he helped lead several successful development programs in the neurosciences. He was responsible for both drugs in development and marketed products as a vice president of neurosciences, and as a vice president in medical governance he helped to harmonize research policies and standards across the organization.
