Paris, February 18th, 2008 – Deinove, a biotech start-up dedicated to the discovery and development of innovative microbiological technologies and their application to the field of bioenergy, today announced the nomination of Jacques Biton as CEO.
Deinove was incorporated following the capital discovery (by Professor Miroslav Radman) of the molecular mechanism that enables the bacterium Deinoccocus radiodurans to “resuscitate” itself following the destruction of its genome. The company holds the rights to several patents covering possible applications of these microorganisms in the biotech and energy markets and is now focusing on the industrial-scale microbiological production of bioethanol. Deinove is positioning itself as an alternative, competitive approach, now that fossil fuels are becoming more scarce. The company’s ambitious research program should yield an innovative, industrial-scale bioethanol production process within the next three years.
“I’m delighted to join Deinove and link up with a team whose excellence is unanimously acknowledged.” commented Jacques Biton.
