Maidenhead-headquartered Abbey Pharma has secured a £2m investment from the Business Growth Fund (BGF) and bought a specialty pharmaceutical business based in the North West.

The deal, which marks the latest step in its buy-and-build strategy, will double the company's size and take combined revenues to about £8m.

BGF has acquired a minority stake in Abbey Pharma, a group established in 2009 which manufactures, distributes and sells prescription and 'over the counter' (OTC) products.
