I wrote earlier this month that Medtronic Inc. is developing the world’s smallest pacemaker, and much of that work is being done at its Tempe operations. Now the company’s device has been implanted in the first U.S. patient. Dr. Larry Chinitz, director of the Heart Rhythm Center at New York University’s Langone Medical Center, implanted the device as part of Medtronic’s global trial.
