(Nasdaq:ISRG), the industry leader in surgical robotics, today reported third quarter of 2010 revenue of $344 million, up from $280 million for the third quarter of 2009. Third quarter of 2010 revenue growth was driven by continued robotic procedure adoption and higher da Vinci Surgical System sales. For comparison purposes, as previously reported, third quarter 2009 revenue was impacted by the recognition of $6 million in revenue deferred in the first quarter of 2009 related to da Vinci Si system upgrade offers made.
