November 13, 2013 -- Innova Biosciences, the inventor of high quality, easy to use bioconjugation kits, is pleased to announce it has reached yet another significant milestone of its programme funded by the UK’s innovation agency, the Technology Strategy Board, by meeting a key scale-up target for the production of its unique InnovaCoat® gold nanoparticle conjugation reagents.
Traditional passive methods for conjugating antibodies to gold nanoparticles require extensive optimisation, and often result in difficulties such as poor stability and aggregation. The InnovaCoat® technology developed by Innova Biosciences resolves these issues by enabling extremely stable covalent conjugates to be formed in a streamlined kit format. The resulting conjugates can be used in a wide range of applications, including in vitro diagnostic assays such as lateral flow devices. In reaching this key milestone, Innova Biosciences has confirmed its ability to support companies using high volumes of gold nanoparticles in their manufacturing processes.
Commenting on this latest success Dr Nick Gee, CEO of Innova Biosciences, said: “We are very pleased to have reached this target, which is a great testament to the scalability of our technologies, and underlines our commitment to supporting the needs of our customers in the IVD sector”.
