A number of clinician-friendly features make Rhapsody the easiest vascular access port to implant. During the procedure, the physician simply selects the short, medium, or long pre-cut catheter based on the patient's anatomy and an actual measurement shown on a special guide wire that is included in the system's tray.
A reinforcing coil embedded in the wall of GrantAdler's unique catheter reduces the chance for kinking, pinch-off, and fracture, while maintaining great flexibility. This metal reinforcement allows the very robust thin-wall catheter to have both an inside diameter (ID) of 2 mm (the largest in the industry) and a very small 7.5 Fr (2.475 mm) outside diameter (OD). The large ID allows unrestricted high flow, and the small OD simplifies placement. These features accommodate the needs of both implanting and referring physicians. The reinforced thin-wall catheter also eliminates the cost of stocking multiple lumen diameters.
Rhapsody's catheter-to-port coupling eliminates the need to orient, install, and assemble separate catheter locking components. The clinician achieves a secure connection in one step by simply pushing the easy to grip QuickLock(TM) catheter coupling over the port stem.
The Rhapsody vascular access port system is competitively priced. It is offered in a two-part system.
